This watermelon limeade recipe tastes like summer in a cup! When it’s time to harvest watermelon and we can’t eat it all, we freeze the juice and then come back later and make this drink. It’s one of our favorite things to bring to a party and we always get requests for the recipe.

Ingredients
4cups (1L)watermelon juice, partially frozen or chilled is best
4cups (1L)water
2/3cup (130 g)sugar, more or less depending on the sweetness of the watermelon
2/3cup (160ml)lime juice
Instructions
Pour all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. Serve ice cold.
Notes
If your blender isn’t large enough for the whole batch (about 8 cups), add all the ingredients except water into the blender. When you pour into a pitcher, add the water and stir.
To make watermelon juice, cube up a watermelon and remove the seeds. Blend in a blender, then measure out the juice. You can freeze any extra juice in freezer safe containers.
The lime juice can be fresh squeezed or bottled
For a sugar free version use 8 cups of watermelon juice and ⅔ cups lime juice. Omit the water and sugar in the original recipe.
If you don’t like pulp you can strain it out with a fine sieve.
A good blender will dissolve the sugar no problem. However, if your blender is not the best, I recommend mixing the sugar with warm water first. Let it cool, then add the remaining ingredients.
